Dubai Media Office reports no casualties after Iranian Shahed drone targets US consulate during ongoing US-Israeli war with Iran

A fire broke out near the U.S. consulate in Dubai after what was described as a “Shahed” Iranian drone strike, marking the latest attack on an American diplomatic site in the Persian Gulf amid escalating hostilities with Iran.

According to the Dubai Media Office, the blaze was limited in scope, caused no injuries, and was quickly extinguished.

Iran’s state-affiliated Nour News released a short video it claims shows the moment the drone hit the U.S. consulate compound. The footage captures smoke rising after an explosion, though the precise impact site is not clearly visible.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in Washington that he had been briefed on the incident, noting that the drone struck a nearby parking area and ignited a fire. He added that all personnel were safe.

The incident occurred less than a day after the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh was targeted by two drones. Iranian strikes across the Gulf have continued despite ongoing military pressure from Israel and the United States.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait announced it would shut down operations until further notice, canceling both routine and emergency consular services. The mission had previously warned of a sustained threat of missile and UAV attacks over Kuwait, with reports of smoke seen in the district where the embassy is located.
