Millionaire Quentin Griffiths dies in Thailand amid £500,000 legal battle with ex-wife

Quentin Griffiths, one of the original founders of the fashion giant Asos, has passed away following a fall from the 17th floor of his residence in Pattaya, Thailand.

While local authorities found no immediate signs of a struggle within his apartment, the investigation remains open, and forensic teams are exploring all possibilities, including foul play. A definitive cause of death is pending a formal autopsy, which is expected to take some time

At the time of his passing, the 58-year-old businessman was embroiled in a bitter legal dispute with his former wife.

She had leveled serious allegations against him, claiming he misappropriated £500,000 and illicitly sold company assets through forged documentation.

Griffiths had consistently maintained his innocence regarding these claims.

Griffiths was a pivotal figure in the early success of Asos, helping transform it into a multi-billion-pound empire before exiting his executive role in 2005. His professional career was marked by significant financial success, though it was also punctuated by high-stakes tax litigation against his former accountants. Having lived in Thailand for nearly two decades, he leaves behind three children from two marriages.
